This weekend was full on fun for London dogs! In preparation for Valentine’s day, two great events celebrating the love for canines took place on Sunday 11th February: All Dogs Matter’s Valentines Dog Walk 2018 and Fetch & Follow’s Cupid Canine Market. In this post we give you a tour of both!
ADM Valentines Dog Walk
We loved dog charity All Dogs Matter’s 2017 edition of the Valentines Dog Walk despite the rain and we crossed all our fingers and paws for some nicer weather this time around. We couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome, as the sun shone on this year’s event.
As usual, the walk started at The Garden Gate pub and a pack of festive dogs joined the walk on Hampstead Heath (somebody was saying they may have been nearly a hundred), which then headed back to the pub for some extra love, cuddles and a raffle. Judging from the muddiness level of the dogs’ paws and garements, the ground had not dried overnight after Saturday’s rain, but who cared! Surely not the marching pooches!
Many dogs wore their best Valentine attire: bow ties, hearts on their coat, a proper suit (see photo above), a ‘Free Kisses’ jumper, and the list goes on. The little Jack Russell Teddy, adopted by Simon Happily, proudly wore three handcrafted hearts reading “abandoned”, “adopted” and “#LucysLaw”.

Apart from the lovely people from All Dogs Matter, we met some of their sweet dogs looking for homes. In particular, Lucy and Hethel – who arrived in the care of All Dogs Matter after being exploited in a puppy farm and are looking for a forever loving family – enjoyed being pampered at the event. There was also the marvellous foster 18-months old German Shepherd rescue Birdie, who we absolutely fell in love with.

Obviously a Valentine dog event wouldn’t be complete without goodies for the furry ones, and we found appropriate stalls for the occasion, including ByBenji dog treats – which freebies were avidly devoured by many dogs -, Ellery Bow, and more. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event and All Dogs Matter will announced that they had raised over £1,000 for their dogs in need! (Find the link to all photos at the bottom of this post).
