Paddle Round the Pier is Europe’s largest free beach festival, now attracting
over 50,000 visitors, which has raised in excess of £300,000 for charitable
causes over its 21 years. Jen Stevens, founder of Pet-Fi says, “Working with
Paddle Round the Pier is the perfect collaboration. Dog lovers in Brighton and further afield love getting in the water with their dogs, and we look forward to seeing many furry friends and their humans down at the Doggie Beach Village! We at Pet-Fi are dedicated to enriching the lives of dogs and their owners, and what better way to celebrate than with a world record in our own  home town!”

Members of the public and their dogs are invited to take part in the record
attempt at no charge. Registration begins Saturday at 9am in the Doggie
Village, and the event will take place from 4pm on Hove Lawns. Join in and
take part or just come and watch history take place!
Shade and water will be provided, but the event organisers stress that if it is too hot for your dog, please let them stay cool at home.
There will be many events and activities for dog lovers, including a talk by local dog expert and Mr Gay Europe, Matt Rood, on how to keep your pet safe in the summer heat.

Doggie goodie bags will be given to the first 50 registrants (upon completion of the paddle record attempt).

Please note all participants must enter the water at their own risk. Dogs
must be at least one year old and be in good physical condition for the

lifejackets. If your dog shows any signs of distress, we will politely ask
that you watch the attempt from the beach or take your dog home where
they will be more comfortable. Safety boats, lifeguards and a vet will be
on duty but we ask that you take a common-sense approach and
monitor your own ability and that of your beloved pet.
