Back of Beyond Adventures’ SUP With Your Pup sessions, in Richmond, are back with some new dates: Sunday 30th May 2021 and Sunday 13th June 2021. All sessions run from 11am to 1pm, starting in Richmond. With limited spots each, each session costs £60 per person (dogs go free). SUP with your Pup sessions are a fun-packed way to take to the water with your dog and learn a new skill.

What to bring
- For your dog: You will need to bring a PFD with a grab handle for your dog, along with the usual paraphernalia that you carry as a dog owner (dog treats, poo bags etc).
- For you: The organisers recommend that you wear shorts, running tights, or similar, and wear a t-shirt with additional layers appropriate for the day. You also need footwear to paddle with, for example flip flops. It is a good idea to bring a re-useable bottle of drinking water to take with you. If it is particularly sunny, it is recommended that you wear sun-cream and a hat. Sunglasses are also good. Be aware that can they sink quickly, so do not bring your best pair. A dry change of clothes is advisable.
Back of Beyond’s friendly team will provide your with dry bags, PFDs (buoyancy aids) and your SUP and paddle.
Requirements
Back of Beyond advises you should be confident on and around water, but you do not need to be able to swim. If this is the case do let them know on the night if you are a weak or non swimmer so that they’re aware of it.
You will start the session paddling on your knees before transitioning to standing, so you will need a degree of flexibility to do this.
The session starts by introducing your pup to the board and equipment followed by a brief introduction to paddling.
You’ll then launch and spend time getting you both comfortable paddling before a short journey along this beautiful stretch of the River Thames.
