Dog Day 2020 at London Skylight

Skylight Rooftop at Tobacco Dock is thrilled to announce the return of its ever-popular Dog Day on Sunday 27th September 2020 in collaboration with UK charity Dogs On The Streets (DOTS). (For a sneak peek, check out our review of the Skylight rooftop from the Dog Day 2019).

Dog Day is the perfect opportunity to head to one of London’s favourite rooftops, accompanied by friends, family and perhaps most importantly… a dog! Skylight is known for its panoramic and uninterrupted views across London’s skyline and is one of the city’s best venues for soaking up the sunshine, as well as enjoying food, drink and activities in a safe, open-air environment. On the final Sunday in September, Skylight will be mixing up dog-themed cocktails for humans as well as dishing out the treats to all four-legged friends from a number of boutique suppliers. There will also be a photo competition taking place, with prizes to be won. This is a great opportunity to say thank you to our furry friends who have been the ultimate companions during lockdown.

Dog Day themed cocktails will be available 2-4-1 between noon – 4pm and include the Pugtail and the Frenchie 75. To accompany these delicious cocktails and to keep pooches happy, Skylight has teamed up with a number of fantastic high quality pet brands to provide each dog-bringing guest with some complimentary treats, including Frozzys, Forthglade, Norsh and Lecker Bites. 

Examples include:

•         Frozzys –Rich in essential vitamins and minerals, Frozzys provide healthy and nutritious lickable frozen yoghurts for dogs,Original, Blueberry, Strawberry, Cranberry.
•         Natural pet food company based in Devon, Forthglade are providing some indulgent natural soft bites in flavours, lamb, salmon and turkey.
•         All natural and irresistible treats from Norsh, including freeze dried raw salmon skin twirls and raw chicken with fruit and vegetables.
•         Lecker Biteswill be making up a delicious and nutritious slurp for dogs to enjoy at Skylight.

The DOTS team* will also be present at the event, money will be raised for the charity through donations from the themed cocktails as well as donation pots throughout the venue.

Dogs welcome all day

*Dogs on the Streets is multi award winning and the UK’s main charity that supports rough sleepers and the homeless community with dogs. Founded in 2017 by Michelle Clark, DOTS offers 24/7 support for these dogs and their owners. DOTS operated mobile weekly street ‘stations’ across London, as well as a number of other UK cities, with further stations opening soon. Run by volunteers, the DOTS team comprises Vets, Vet Nurses, Dog Trainers, Groomers and Nutritionists. Offering food and dietary advice as well as providing vital accessories like coats, bedding, collars and leads, DOTS also helps their owners. Working tirelessly, DOTS aims to find permanent accommodation for rough sleepers and regularly represents clients and their dogs with services/borough councils, as well as helping to create pathways to rehabilitation which often can only be achieved with their dogs by their side. In the event of an owners’ illness or hospitalization, DOTS is fortunate to have foster care kennels, where the dogs are able to spend the day outside socialising, exercising and enjoying playtime with a team of experienced high end dog behaviourists and trainers.
