Who said Halloween is for children had no idea of what it can turn out with a pack of dogs. Last weekend we headed to two Halloween dog events: the Barge House’s Howl-o-ween and The Halloween Walk and Show at the Spaniards Inn in Hampstead. Both in aid of All Dogs Matter, both with dogs (and some humans of theirs) dressed up in glorious outfits!

#The Walk

A dense mist wrapping up trees, yellow and orange leaves covering the path and an the smell of autumn: could not hope for a better Halloween walk with a pack of very happy tail waggiers!

There were some hilarious highlights to complete the adventure, like when “Spiderdog” decided that a pond would give his dress that final touch, or the Halloween-pug wanted to persistently say hello to each furry companion, tirelessly running forwards and backwards. There was also somebody decided that there was a far more comfy way to travel in the woods (see picture above!)…

Luckily “Robin” was always around, running ahead (and zigzagging around) to check that everything was safe, and helping out “Batdog”.

#The Show

There was a great buzz at the Show at the Spaniards Inn, with a great turnout of dogs and families, many dressed up in perfect Halloween garments. Sometimes pictures say more than words, so I selected a few favourite shots to share with you. I hope you enjoy as I did taking them!

Howl-o-ween at the Barge House

On Saturday, I enjoyed taking Argo to the Howl-o-ween dog show at the Barge House. He is not a fancy dresser and we did not really think to enter any classes, but in the end we registered in the trick one. “Trick AND treat” has always been our motto, and Argo did great, winning a rosette and a cute bandana and mug sponsored by Holy & Lily! Pictures from the event, courtesy of a friend, will be coming soon on The Londog’s Facebook page!
